Obituary of Kenneth J. Fraasch
Fraasch, Kenneth J. Age 85, of Minnetonka & Crosslake, passed away August 28th from congestive heart failure. He was preceded by his loving wife MaryAnn, parents William & Ethel, brother Forrest Fraasch and sister Shirley Tappe. Ken graduated from the University of MN and University of Southern California where he received Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Aeronautical Engineering. They returned to MN in 1959, raised their 5 children in Minnetonka and worked at Honeywell until his retirement in 1990. He led the Honeywell Ammunition Systems Division as VP and General Manager. As a business leader he was loved and well respected for his strong business integrity and his positive ability to motivate others. After his retirement, they moved to Crosslake, MN where they enjoyed a quiet life. Soon after their move, MaryAnn was diagnosed with breast cancer and battled it together for 20 years. They made many trips to Minneapolis, Brainerd and Crosby where they faced many challenges of keeping her cancer at bay, but never lost hope. MaryAnn always said Ken was the best nurse she could ask for. They made many friends through their openness with the workers at several establishments in Crosslake, and when in the Twin Cities, old friends would work around their doctor visits to reconnect. Ken enjoyed fishing, hunting, photography, taking friends and family out to his favorite restaurants, mowing with his John Deere lawnmower, watching Twins and Vikings games, and especially working in their vegetable garden together. In his later years he volunteered at Cuyuna Medical Center in Crosby where he was able to give back for their care of MaryAnn. Ken is survived by his large loving family: Steve (Nancy) Fraasch, Amy (Pete) Fraasch Vold, Martha (Chris) LeWin, Jim (Sheila) Fraasch, Sarah (Derrick) Luhm; 13 grandchildren: Jon, Karl (Lauren), Emily (Josh), Rebecca (Dustin), John "Jack", Spencer, Charlie, Zachary, Blakely (Patrick), Hayden, Mitchell, Matthew, and Tommy; and his sister Audrey Moore. Mass of Christian Burial to be held on Tuesday, September 10th at 11am with visitation at 10am at the Church of St Therese in Deephaven, MN, 18323 Minne-tonka Blvd. Memorials preferred to the donor's choice.
