Obituary of Launa Marie (Higgins) Riedasch

Launa Marie (Higgins) Riedasch, 76, passed away peacefully on Aug. 26, 2019, at St. Mary’s Medical Center, Duluth, surrounded by family. She was born on May 31, 1943 in Superior, daughter of Arthur and Marian Higgins.

Launa graduated from Cathedral High School and Superior Vocational School (WITC) with an LPN nursing degree. She retired in 2005 and her long nursing career included St. Joseph’s Hospital, St Francis, and Villa Marina. Launa was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and daughter who loved spending time with her family.

She was preceded in death by her father Arthur, brother David, first husband Jim, stepson Aaron, grandson Ryan, and brothers-in-law Larry and Paul. Launa is survived by her husband of almost 43 years, Bill, son Joel Accola, daughters Ann Goettl, and Sara Maki, stepson Gene Riedasch, mother Marian Higgins, brother Mike (Kathy) Higgins, brothers-in-law Bob (Lynda) Riedasch, Brian (Linda) Riedasch, sister-in-law Barb Riedasch, 11 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A memorial service will be held Tues., Sept. 3, 2019 at 10 am with visitation 1 hour prior, at the Cremation Society of Minnesota, Duluth, 4100 Grand Ave., Duluth.
