Obituary of Bev Stone

Beverly "Bev" Ann Stone, 73 of Moose Lake passed away peacefully on Friday August 16, 2019 at Solvay Hospice House in Duluth, MN after many years of battling cancer.

 

She was born in Duluth, MN on August 29, 1945, to Joseph and Harriet (Gunsolus) Gregg and was the youngest of their 5 children.

 

Bev married Gerald "Jerry" Stone on July 31, 1965 and they were able to celebrate their 54th year of marriage before her passing.

 

After graduating from Central High school in 1963 Bev worked at the Duluth Court House.  After moving to Moose Lake she worked as a secretary and pharmacy tech., for many years, at the Moose Lake State Hospital and Regional Treatment Center.  She also worked for the Duluth Encoding Center for the Federal Postal Service.

 

Bev loved her family, playing bridge, winning at the casinos, watching her television shows and reading.  For many years she and her husband also enjoyed wintering in Texas.

 

She is survived by her beloved husband, Jerry; daughter Sheryl (Dan) Lilya, Moose Lake, MN: sons, Steve (Jestina) Stone, Andover, MN and Joel (Shanna) Stone, Woodbury, MN; grandchildren, Michael, Daniel and Elyse Lilya and Madison, Grace and Alivia Stone.  She is also survived by 3 sisters, numerous nieces and nephews and their families. 

 

Beverly was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Harriet Gregg, a brother and her grandson Nicholas Lilya.

 

Visitation will begin at 10:30am Saturday September 7th, 2019 at Holy Angels Catholic Church, 60 Hartman Drive, Moose Lake, MN, and will continue until the 11:30am Rosary Service.  Lunch immediately after in the social hall.
