Obituary of Allison Diane Churchill
Allison Diane Churchill, 66 years old, said farewell and flew to heaven on August 19, 2019, after a brave three-year battle with breast cancer. This “Daughter of Texas” was born in El Paso, Texas on May 4, 1953 and was a resident of Duluth most of her life. Allison was greeted in heaven by her parents, Allan C. and Beverly Churchill, sister, Terry Lee Churchill, her beloved doggie, Sparky and many family members and friends.
She is survived by her sister, Roberta (Bobbi) Pirkola and brother-in-law, Dean Pirkola; beloved great-niece, Taylor Pirkola and nephews, Brian (Nicole) Pirkola, Craig Himmelright, and Clayton Pirkola and family; many cousins and friends. Allison will be remembered by us all as a kind, caring, generous and big-hearted soul, and the biggest Viking fan ever.
She retired six years ago from her position in the City Attorney’s office at the City of Duluth after 40 years of service. Over the years, she loved to travel to many places with friends and her sis Bobbi. Vegas and Ixtapa were on the top of the list. We are all certain, they have been preparing for you in Heaven Allison, and I would bet they have an abundance of E&J waiting to celebrate you home. We would like to thank all of Allison’s friends who cared for her and took her to lunch and events. She was blessed to have such caring people in her life.
Gathering of family and friends from 2:00 p.m. until the 2:30 p.m. memorial service Monday, September 9th in the Cremation Society of Minnesota Chapel, 4100 Grand Avenue. A reception will be held after the service at Mr. D’s, 5622 Grand Avenue.
