Obituary of Sylvia Manthey

Sylvia passed away on August 10th, 2019 at her home in Grand Portage, MN. Sylvia was born in Grand Portage to her father, James and mother, Sylvia on April 21st, 1950. Sylvia lived in Duluth, MN where she worked for the Duluth School District while raising her children, Dana, Larry, and Jennifer. In 1990, Sylvia moved home to Grand Portage and worked as the Grand Portage Daycare Director for the past 28 years.

Sylvia is preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Lester Day and Marcus Thibault. Sylvia is survived by her children; Dana (Jon) Logan, Larry (Shelly) Manthey, Jennifer Manthey, and LaVonne (Adam) Valiant; her sister, Carole (Dennis) Perrault, and brother, James (Paula) Thibault; her 13 grand-children, 3 great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and 2 babies on the way.

Sylvia lived a wonderful life devoted to her family and she will forever be missed by many. The family of Sylvia invite those who knew her to a celebration of her life on August 24th, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. at the Grand Portage Community Center in Grand Portage, MN.
