Obituary of Joseph Charles Hollinday Sr.

Joseph Charles “Bay Ba Mosh (March Wind)” Hollinday, Sr., 93, died Saturday, August 10, 2019 in Duluth, MN. He was born March 7, 1926 on White Earth Reservation. He served in the Marine Corps from 1944-1946, and was a combatant in the Battle for Okinawa. After the war, Joseph worked at Peevey the Cargill Grain Elevators as a grain miller. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. Joseph is preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Anna; wife Christina; son Glenn; daughter Debra; grandson Daniel. He is survived by his daughter in law Barbara (Glenn); grandsons Scott, Brett (Gina), granddaughter Roberta (Paul Gilsdorf); son Clayton (Barbara), grandson Clayton Jr.; son David, son Bruce (Linda), grandson Roman, granddaughter in law Jennifer (Daniel); son in law, Doug Idlett (Debra); Son, Joseph Hollinday, Jr. (Jim Kidney); son, Craig (Linda), grandchildren, Spencer Chapinski, Scarlett, Cuyler; son Jason (Lisa); and many great grandchildren; honorary son Mike Grubb. A funeral service will be held Saturday, August 17, 2019 at First Memorial Funeral Chapel, 4100 Grand Ave., Duluth, at 10:00 am with a visitation beginning at 9:00 am. Interment at Maple Grove Cemetery, Cloquet, MN at a later date.
