Obituary of Debra Rae Scott

Scott, Debra Rae age 66, of Bloomington, MN. Debbie passed away into the loving arms of Jesus Sunday, August 4, 2019, after a most courageous 5 1/2 year battle with multiple myeloma. She never let the disease define her during the two stem cell transplants and numerous hospitalizations. Debbie was a radiant. joyful, determined, fun, enthusiastic, prayerful, loving, woman of God. She put her faith into action as she participated in many faith-based and civic organizations. Her long-time leadership at Prayer Ventures, women's Bible studies, and as a church Session Elder were an integral part of her giftedness. She was a passionate reader, prayer warrior and student of scripture. Debbie will remembered for her endearing love of her children, grandchildren and devoted friends. She loved her gardens and entertaining at the lake, and taking joy in sharing time with family and friends. Debbie left the world a better place and instilled in the next generation a sense of appreciation for family, Godly values, and the beauty of creation. Much more can be said, but Proverbs 31 sums it up best, "She is clothed with strength and dignity," "a woman who reveres the Lord is to be praised." She certainly was all that and much more! Survived by husband Norman Scott Jr., sons Matt and Tom, stepdaughter Robyn, stepson Gregg, sister Doreen McDonald, brother Dan Benson, grandchildren Silas, Hanalei, Jared, Alec, Kyle, Zak, Carson, Cameron, Gavin, and many other aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by parents James and Adeline Benson and niece, Melissa. Celebration of Life Service Friday, August 16, at 11:00 am with visitation beginning at 10:00 am prior to the service and a fellowship lunch following. at Prairie Community Church, 9145 Eden Prairie Road, Eden Prairie, MN 55347. Memorial preferred to Prayer Ventures, American Cancer Society and New Life Family Services.
