Obituary of John Wayne McKisson

Our beloved John Wayne, age 78, of Delano, MN, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on 8/6/19. Preceded in death by parents. Survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Sharon; children, Jennifer (Peter) Grant and Jacquelin; 6 grandchildren: Alaina, Rosie, Kiera, Mitchell, Harry and Sophia; sister, Pat; niece, Jill and nephew, Ross. John was a ’59 graduate of Richfield H.S., a graduate of U of M and Mankato. He was a geography teacher at Burnsville H.S. for 32 ½ years. He loved to hunt, fish, golf, travel the world and spend time at his lake home. He will be fondly remembered for his love for God, family and friends, generosity, kindness, smile, volunteering at church, teaching, coaching, playing Santa and numerous jokes. Memorial service Thursday, August 22nd at 11:00 a.m. with visitation one hour prior at Light of Christ Lutheran Church, Delano. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to American Cancer Society, MN; Light of Christ Lutheran Church; Love, Inc. or the Delano Senior Center.
