Klause, Leon N. Sr.

Age 75 of Apple Valley, MN died on July 20, 2019. He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 sisters, 1 grandson, 1 great granddaughter, and first wife. Leon was born in Rugby, ND. He served active duty in the US Army from 1961-1965 and reserve duty until 1967. After leaving the military, Leon worked in retail sales until his retirement in 2012. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend. He will be missed by many. Leon is survived by his wife Mary, daughters Deanie (Hayden) Jacobson, Tina (Lyndon) Bartell, Leann Helleksen, son Leon (Angie) Klause, Jr., stepdaughter Lindsey (David) Larsen, sister Elizabeth (Ben) Axtman, 19 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and other loving relatives and friends. Interment is August 12, 2019 at 2:00 PM at Fort Snelling National Cemetery, 7601 34th Ave So., Mpls, MN. A Celebration of Leon's Life will be held at the Apple Valley American Legion Post 1776, 14521 Granada Dr., Apple Valley, MN 55124 immediately following. Memorials preferred to donor's favorite charity.
