Obituary of Ruth Irene Hansen

Ruth Irene Hansen, 87, of Duluth, passed away Wednesday July 24, 2019 in Solvay Hospice House. She was born June 10, 1932 to William and Agnes (Jacobson) Leskela in Oulu, WI. Ruth graduated from South Shore High School, Port Wing, WI and was employed at various jobs in Duluth; including St. Mary’s Hospital, and the DM&IR Railway Company, from which she retired in 1992. Her interests included; crocheting, gardening, knitting and sewing quilts for Lutheran World Relief at Kenwood Lutheran Church. Her dream was to have her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren live near enough to see them often. Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents; daughters Elaine McDonald and Kathleen McDonald Wagner; husbands Harold McDonald, William Beatty and James Hansen; brother and sister-in-law, Clifford and Lillian Leskala, brother Gene Leskala, sister and brother-in-law Marilyn and Lance Lind. She is survived by daughters Patricia Bradshaw and Colleen McDonald; sons Michael (Marcy) McDonald and Shawn (Jessica) McDonald; sister Norma Leskela, sister-in-heart Christine (Bruce) Kraemer and many grandchildren, step-children, step-grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren and friends. A memorial service will be held Monday, July 29, 2019 at Kenwood Lutheran Church, in Duluth, with visitation at 10 a.m. and service at 11 a.m. Memorials may be made to Solvay Hospice House.
