Obituary of Dale Patrick Olmstead

Dale Patrick Olmstead passed unexpectedly on July 15, 2019. He was born in Larimore, ND on October 4, 1940 to William and Georgia Olmstead. During his many years of serving in the Navy, he traveled extensively and eventually moved back to Duluth where he retired from the Duluth News Tribune. Dale was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Mike; and his furry companion Mazel. He is survived by his wife, Sheila (Davis); brothers Dennis (Angie) and Tom (Terry); sisters Lyn (John) Swafford, Kathy (John) Christensen and Mary (Chuck) Chairs; along with sisters-in-law Charlotte Olmstead, Sue Davis and Judy (Jason Dale) Davis; along with many nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, July 20 at 1pm at Dale and Sheila’s residence.
