Obituary of Elaine Marie Gamec

Gamec, Elaine Marie of Robbinsdale, MN, passed away peacefully Monday July 2, 2019 at the age of 82. Born in 1936 in Redwood Falls, MN and raised in Marshall, MN, Elaine began a lifelong career in printing and composing right out of high school with a variety of print related jobs, ending up at the Minneapolis Star and Tribune where she worked for over 30 years. She was an active union member, along with her husband Al Gamec. For over 25 years Elaine devoted much of her free time coaching Youth bowlers and coordinating both Senior and Youth bowling leagues. She primarily worked out of Texa-Tonka Lanes in St. Louis Park. Elaine was recognized at the national level and and in 2013 inducted into the Bowling Hall of Fame for her dedication and work with Youth Bowlers. Elaine was preceded in death by husband Albert Gamec, stepson Jeff Gamec, son Christopher Gamec and Grow brothers Arnie, Gary and Lloyd Jr. Elaine is survived by daughters Tara Jo and Bonnie Heinecke, brother Lowell (Jeanette) Grow, sisters-in-law Marina (Gary), and Lang (Lloyd Jr.) Grow, grandchildren Justen (Julie) Gamec and Renee (Brady) Melquist, great grandchildren James, Wyatt, Meah, Beau and Carter, special friend of the family Dina Hickman and many loving nieces and nephews. Please join us in celebrating her life on Monday July 15, 2019 at the Cremation Society of MN at 7110 France Ave S, Edina. Visitation will begin at 10 AM, with a memorial service at 11 AM.
