Obituary of Deborah Ann (Powell) Leal

Deborah Ann (Powell) Leal, 62, passed away at the Inter-Faith Care Center on Thursday, June 27, 2019, surrounded by her family. She was born December 27, 1956 to Andrew Powell & Helen (Powell) Nelson in Duluth, MN. She worked at St. Mary’s in Duluth until she retired in 2012. Deb loved spending time with her children and grandchildren, who were the light of her life. She also enjoyed reading, camping, and playing bingo at the Cloquet Moose Lodge. She cared deeply for her family and dog Rusty. She loved studying the bible with her friend Ginny Campbell and was strong in faith until the end. She was a loving spirit and will be greatly missed. Deb is preceded in death by her mother and father; stepfather, Norman Nelson. She is survived by her three sons, Samuel (Amy) Leal, Andrew (Crystal) Leal, and David Leal; sisters, Judy (Bob) Precord, Barb Powell, and Tammy (Mike) Martin; three grandsons, Levi, Christian, and Cameron; as well as many aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews. A memorial service will be held Tuesday, July 9th at 11:00am at the United Protestant Church, 830 88th Ave W & Arbor St, Duluth, MN, with a visitation beginning at 10:00am.
