Obituary of Robert H. Peterson

Robert H. Peterson, 82, of Duluth passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Monday, June 24, 2019 at Essentia Medical Center due to complications with Pulmonary Fibrosis. He was born on August 22, 1936 in Duluth, MN.

Bob grew up in Duluth, MN and married the love of his life Doris Hecimovich on August 31, 1957. He attended Duluth Central High School prior to proudly serving his country in the United States Marine Corps. He worked at Zinsmaster Baking Company as a Plant Superintendent and at Georgia Pacific (Superwood) retiring in 1998. In retirement, Bob worked several years for the Voyager Bus Company. A job he greatly enjoyed.

Bob enjoyed grouse hunting, fishing and spending time with his family. Especially his grandchildren, in which he would always tell them, “I love you more.”

He is preceded in death by his son, Ricky; father, Harry Peterson; mother, Lucille (Doughty) Peterson; and sisters, Harriet Privett, Patricia Pitoscia, and Beverly Pitoscia.

Bob is survived by his wife of 61 years, Doris; sons Steve (Donna), Mike (Kris), and Craig (Lynn). Grandchildren Jake (Amber), David, Kaley (Jake) Iskat, Nikki, Ryan, Max, Cole, and a great granddaughter Coraline. A sister-in-law, Joann Hecimovich; and a brother-in-law Larry (Donna) Hecimovich.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, July 1, 2019 at the Cremation Society of Duluth, 4100 Grand Ave, Duluth MN. Visitation from 9:00 am – 10:00 am with a service beginning at 10:00 am.
