Obituary of Gerald D. Hochhalter

Gerald D. Hochhalter 7.30.1936- 6.14.2019

Gerald Duane Hochhalter, at age 82, passed away on June 14th, at his home in Shakopee, Mn, surrounded by his loved ones. He was born on July 30th, 1936 in Wishek, North Dakota to Elvin and Katherine Hochhalter. He then joined the Army and served his time in Korea before moving to Minneapolis. He started his career at Harold Chevrolet as parts manager where he worked for 38 years before he retired.

Gary married Beverly Steinert in 1964 in Bismarck, ND. They were happily married for 56 years. He enjoyed watching sports, boating, fishing and spending time with his family. He would spend time taking his wife to see her family in North Dakota a few times a year. He always enjoyed spending time with his in-laws (Maggie and Ed Steinert), his sister and brother in- laws (Laverne and Barry Johnson) of Rapid City, SD and (Deb Carpenter) of Bismarck, ND. Family was the most important thing to him and he showed it every day.

Gary is survived by his spouse Beverly Hochhalter of Shakopee, Mn, his daughters, Michelle Addyman and husband (Scott) of Eden Prairie, Mn, Sandy Edwards and husband (Chuck) of East Bethel. He has 3 grandchildren that he loved so very much. Steven, Ryan and Brianna Addyman, siblings, Marvelene Looby from Sioux Falls, SD, Les Hochhalter from Mott, ND and Dennis Janke from Prior Lake, MN.

A celebration of his life will be held in memory of Gary in the community room at River City Center in Shakopee on July 20th from 1-4. We would love to see you join us
