ROBERT A. JOHNSON
Robert A. Johnson, 85, of Minneapolis, passed away June 7, 2019. He was born September 2, 1933 in Hibbing, MN to Walter and Alice (Kinley) Johnson of Little Swan.
He graduated from Hibbing Schools in 1953, was in the Hibbing National Guard, and worked at the Scranton Mine as a pump man.
He served in the United States Air force 1955 to 1959 taking courses in Aircraft Electrical and Communications Machine Repair. He was stationed at Ardmore AFB, OK; Chanute AFB, Rantoul, IL; Marietta, GA; and Iceland.
In 1959 he married Patricia Stepan of Chisholm, MN. After the birth of their first child they moved to Minneapolis where they raised their children.
He worked for Gray Audograph, Qualitone Hearing Aid, Honeywell Ordnance, Wahl & Wahl, and retired from West Publishing in 1999.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years; his parents; his sister, Muriel Sabbatini of Hibbing and brother, Walter Jr. of Texas.
He is survived by his children: Mary Alice (David) Schwanke, Timothy Johnson, and Kevin (Barb) Johnson; Grandchildren: Christopher Johnson, Jeffrey (Candace) Johnson, Michael (Jessica) Sizer, Rachel (Ne-C) Carter, Nathan (Amanda) Bartosik; 8 Great-Grandchildren and 1 GG-Grandchild.
Funeral Service at First Memorial-Waterston Chapel, 4343 Nicollet Ave. S. in Minneapolis, Wednesday, June 19th, 11:00 am, visitation one hour prior to service.
Interment: Fort Snelling National Cemetery, 1:30 pm., 7601 34th Ave S, Minneapolis, MN
