Obituary of Barbara J. Vermeer

Vermeer, Barbara J. Our beloved Barb, age 66, passed away on June 3, 2019. Barbara was preceded in death by her father Clayton Berg and survived by her husband Steven Vermeer, son Aaron Cole, daughters Jenny (Thomas) Fuller and Jamie (Justin) Gervais, grandsons Hunter and Lucas Gervais, mother Gloria Berg, and sister Bonnie Wilkening. Barb was dedicated to her community, family and friends, often putting other's needs ahead of her own while she herself battled cancer. Her continued trust in her faith, love for helping others and kind heart made Barb an exceptional person to know. She will forever remain in the hearts of those she touched. Barb was extremely proud of her 40 plus year career at Ziegler Caterpillar where she built many life-long relationships and ended her career as the company's Human Resources Director in 2014. Barb's greatest joys were spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, enjoying the outdoors at her home in Shakopee and traveling the world. Visitation Monday, June 17, 2019 from 6:00 - 8:00 pm at Shepherd of the Lake in Prior Lake, MN. Funeral service Tuesday, June 18, 2019 at 11:00 am at Shepherd of the Lake. Private interment at Dawn Valley Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Shepherd of the Lake.
