Obituary of Elaine Olive Egan

Elaine Olive Egan age 91 passed away peacefully Sunday June 2, 2019.

Elaine O. (Wilhelm) Egan was born on August 3, 1927 in Minneapolis MN. After her mother and brother passed away unexpectedly, Elaine was welcomed in Duluth at 12 yrs old by her Aunt and Uncle.

Elaine was a 1945 graduate of Denfeld High School. On June 5, 1948 Elaine married Harry Egan, Jr. and together, they raised four daughters in Hermantown. Our mom always said living on the Morris Thomas Road and raising her daughters was the happiest time of her life. Her employment included various cafes, eventually retiring from St. Luke's Hospital Coffee Shop.

Elaine was preceded in death by her husband, Harry; daughter, Claire Egan-Smith on April 22, 2019; her parents; and her brother Clarence "Sonny" Wilhelm, Jr.

She is survived by her daughters Debra (Michael) Hennessy, Duluth, MN; Monica (Dennis) Stokke, Hermantown, MN; and Hilary (Mark) Norby, Cologne MN. She was a Grandma to 9 grandchildren. Andrew (Shannon) Smith, Gynnis Dittrick, Stephen (Mary) Hennessy, Joseph (Robin) Hennessy, Christopher (Melissa) Hennessy, Mollie (Scott) Lucia, Shaine Stokke, Katie Alvino, Maureen (Thomas) Carlson; She was also a Great-grandmother to 20.

The family would like to express their gratitude to Viewcrest for the wonderful care of our Mother.

Visitation at 2:00 p.m. until the 2:30 p.m. Memorial Service Friday June 7th at the Cremation Society of Minnesota Chapel, 4100 Grand Ave, Duluth.
