Rose-Mary Novak-Kerr

Obituary of Rose-Mary Novak-Kerr

Novak-Kerr, Rose-Mary

It is with great sorrow that the family of Rose-Mary Novak-Kerr announces her peaceful passing on June 2nd 2019 at Little Hospice in Edina. Rose-Mary will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her husband Ian, daughters Katryna & Genevieve (Ian Wilson), sister Vera (Richard Andrysiak), numerous other family members and close friends. For the past five years Rose-Mary has courageously fought a battle with ovarian cancer. She was determined to maintain normalcy in her life despite her deteriorating health. Her mindset was forever positive-never negative- and this great attitude to life allowed her to manage the household in style, walk the dogs (Spice and Neo) before heading off to a gym session or two followed by a swim and volunteer work. As a professional librarian she loved being involved with books and people. She was the head librarian at two institutions in Geneva, Switzerland before moving to Minnesota. For the past twenty years she loved to interact with the many students and staff at the International School of Minnesota as a librarian, substitute teacher, volunteer and parent. She loved being with her family and that was clearly the most important thing to her. She was so proud of her daughters. She loved to travel and was always searching for new adventures, new experiences and opportunities to learn and make memories. Special thanks to Dr. Lerner for her support, care and expert advice and to all the staff of the Frauenshuh Cancer Team and the Methodist Hospital for their compassionate care these past years. Funeral service will be held on Friday June 7th at 10:30 at St. Therese of Deephaven, 18323 Minnetonka Blvd Wayzata. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully asks that those who wish to make donations in Rose-Mary's name make them online to the Park Nicollet Frauenshuh Cancer Center MN.
