Obituary of Patricia Jeanette Eggleston

Eggleston, Patricia Jeanette (Gentry) Age 89, of Golden Valley, gracefully passed away on 5/11/19. She is survived by her husband, Lawrence (Dick) Richard Eggleston of 69 years who cared for her at home as she courageously lived with dementia for the past 10 years. She is also survived by her children, Debra Eggleston (Maple Grove, MN), Mark (Mary) Eggleston (Mesa, AZ), Kent (Hui Jing) Eggleston (Stony Brook, NY), Darcy Futrell (Brooklyn Park, MN), Kurt Eggleston (Golden Valley, MN); grandchildren, Sarah, Jenny, Michael, Kelli, Reese, Ashley, Sam, Jack, Drake & Jade; great grandchildren, Andres, Dale, Dylynn, Roman & Fiona; siblings, Winona Marshall, Laverne Gentry, Loretta (Michael) Scott; many nieces & nephews; She is preceded in death by her parents, Sidney & Frances Gentry and brother, Marion Gentry. Patricia was born 10/28/29 near Stet, MO where the family farm was located. Later she attended McPherson College in Kansas. She met Dick on their first day on campus when he helped carry her trunk to her dormitory room. They were married on 8/7/49. For many years prior to her illness, she was actively involved in the operation of the family business. She was an avid reader, an excellent seamstress, and could always find a close-up parking space! A Celebration of Life will be held on 6/22/19 at 11:00 am at Brookview, 316 Brookview Pkwy. S., Golden Valley, MN 55426. Interment at Fort Snelling. Memorials preferred to the Friends of the Hennepin County Library or Salvation Army.
