Obituary of James Donald Miller

James Donald Miller 

Age 91, born in Duluth, MN to Marie and Elmer Miller on April 12, 1928 and died May 17, 2019 in MPLS. He enlisted in the Navy in June of 1945 and served in the Pacific. He became an avid reader of WWII history, a skilled carpenter and gifted builder of homes. His favorite activity was building and flying radio controlled airplanes with his friends from TCRC. He was kind and generous and was dearly loved. Preceded in death by his daughter, Lynette O’Conner; ex-wife, Shirley Hunter Miller; parents; brothers: Russell, Robert, Clem, Gordon, George; sisters, Florence and June. Survived by daughters, sons-in-law and 9 grandchildren: Randine Petersen (Ian, Tobias, Arian Mosier, Bethany Winter); Jamie (Tim) McDermeit (Nick, Dustin, Sean); Christopher O’Connor (Stephanie, Nathan); 15 great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and friends. Memorial service Tuesday, June 11. Visitation at 3PM, service 4PM, reception 5PM at the Cremation Society Edina Chapel, 7110 France Ave. S., 55435.
