Obituary of Clarice A. (Skuza) Plachecki

Clarice A. (Skuza) Plachecki, 92, of Duluth, died Tuesday, May 21 at Chris Jenson Nursing Home. She was born in Popple Creek, Minnesota on June 12, 1926, to Fred and Anna (Duscha) Skuza. She was raised on the family farm, and graduated from Sauk Rapids HS, in 1944. She married Robert Plachecki, May 7, 1949. They raised three children while Bob served in the Air Force, living in numerous states. They moved to Duluth in 1965.

Clarice worked many years at Sears, downtown and then in the mall. She was an amazing seamstress and could sew anything from suits to prom dresses. She was an avid bowler at Country Lanes until the age of 80. Before Chris Jenson, she lived in assisted living at St. Ann's.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bob; Son, Leslie; sister, Betty; and brother, Lawrence.

She is survived by daughter, Lynne (Bill) Ziemski; son, Larry, both of Duluth; grandchildren: Zachary, Nathan (Kelly), Jacob (Kelly) Ziemski, Kelli Slonim, Kori Bromenshenkel, Max (Christina), Gunnar, Jed (Jana) Plachecki; 11 great-grandchildren; and brother, Jim (Toots) Skuza, St. Cloud.

Visitation: 9 a.m. until the 10a.m. Celebration of Life service, Wednesday, May 29, at Cremation Society of Minnesota, 4100 Grand Avenue, Duluth. Pastor Jerome Evavold officiating. In lieu of flowers, plant pansies in your garden, Clarice's favorite.
