Betty Borgheiinck

Obituary of Betty Jean Borgheiinck

Betty Jean Borgheiinck, Age 88, passed away peacefully on May 18th surrounded by her daughters. She was born on November 3, 1930, in Lamberton, Minnesota, to Gustav and Grace Langhoff, the youngest of four children. Betty married Edward Borgheiinck on October 18, 1952, and they raised three daughters. Betty was a wonderful wife, mother, grandma, and great-grandma. She was known for making her family and neighbors a delicious home-baked banana bread at Christmas. Her greatest joy was holding and rocking her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She had a gift for growing beautiful African violets, Christmas cactus and other houseplants. Her Christmas cactus was from cuttings handed down from her Grandmother’s plant. She took cuttings and planted them for her family to continue the heritage. She enjoyed traveling with Eddie to Florida, Texas, the Grand Canyon, and California with their camper. Now she was able to join him again to continue their journey together. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward; parents, Gustav and Grace Langhoff, sister, Velma Brethorst-Nelson; brothers, Gordon Langhoff and Kenneth Langhoff. She is survived by her daughters, Sharon (Marvin) Pass of Balsam Lake, Wisconsin; Bonnie (Fritz) Menden of Prior Lake Minnesota; Cindy (Bob) Novotny of Balsam Lake Wisconsin; grandchildren, Jaime (Joel) Weber; Brad (Nikki) Menden; Jeremy (Taylor) Pass; Jason (Amy) Pass; Mandy (Luke) Kocon; Tyler (Kayla) Menden; Kelsey (Matt) Flattem; Ben Novotny and Josh Novotny; great-grandchildren, Allison and Natalie Weber; Blake and Bryce Menden; Louis and Archer Pass; Lexi and Eddie Pass; Kenzie, Ashlyn and Kailey Kocon; Carter and Connor Menden and Kaden & Keegan Flattem; other relatives and good friends.
