Roger Allyn Johnson

Age 83 of Eagan passed away on Thursday May 9th 2019 at the VA Hospital MPLS. Born in New Ulm, MN on April 19th 1936 and grew up on the family farm in Gibbon, MN. Preceded in death by parents, Ruben and Lilian Johnson, and step-mother, Martha. Survived by his wife Lili Zhao-Johnson, Daughters Sandra (David) Gray, Stacey (Erik) Nelson, brothers Alan (Loretta) Johnson, David (Kathryn) Johnson, as well as many nieces and nephews. Roger was a Gibbon High school Graduate, class of 1954. He had been a Petty Officer in the US Navy 1954 - 1958 and was awarded the National Defense Service Medal. He studied electronics in the navy and made that his life long vocation.  Roger had an affinity for animals. He enjoying fishing, camping & traveling. And a connoisseur of unique foods do to growning up on the farm, being in the navy and traveling around the world. Memorial service held on Friday, May 31st at 2:00 pm, visitation 1 hour prior to service from Cremation Society of MN, 7110 France Ave, Edina, MN, 55435. Fort Snelling Cemetery Honor Service Monday June 3rd at 12:30 (12:30 to 12:45 only 15 minutes, meet at assembly area 5).
