Age 87, of Prior Lake passed away peacefully on May 9, 2019. Dorothy was born on May 16, 1931 in St. Paul Minnesota to Arthur and Myrtle Peterson. Dorothy married Vincent Lyle Smith on June 27, 1952 and they were happily married for over 61 years. Dorothy worked for many years in the office at Our Own Hardware in Burnsville. She enjoyed traveling and spending time with friends and family. She was a wonderful wife and mother. Dorothy is survived by her sons Greg (Jane) Smith of Prior Lake and Mark Smith of Salt Lake City; her daughter Chris (Bud) Blanchette of Maple Grove; her grandchildren Jacob Blanchette, Nicole (Paul) Schoenecker, Jacque (Curt) Bowen, Erin (Trent) Clark, and her great-grandchildren Colton and Hailey Clark. Dorothy's family wishes to gratefully acknowledge the exceptional care given to Dorothy by the staff at McKenna Crossing in Prior Lake. A memorial service will be held at Holy Trinity United Methodist Church, 16150 Arcadia Ave, Prior Lake at 11:00 am on Monday, May 20. Visitation one hour before. Lunch after service in church hall. Private burial will be held at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
