Obituary of Bud Welsh

WELSH, Norbert “Bud” J., age 83, of Coon Rapids, passed away at home on May 6, 2019.  Retired OSC, United States Navy.  He is preceded in death by his wife, Marilyn; grandson, Joshua; parents, George and Emily Welsh; 7 brothers and sisters, Patricia (Treve), James, George, Jean (Curt), Phyllis, Lois, and Dennis.  He will be deeply missed by his daughters, Dawn Bryant, Patricia (Charles) Hemming, Kimberly (Robert) Glass; grandchildren, Ashley, Emily, Matthew, Sarah, Chris, Mark, Shannon; 11 great grandchildren; sister, Kathryn (George) May; sisters-in-law, Donna and Sandra Welsh; brother in-law, Rod Engleson; many nieces, nephews, relatives and good friends. 

Bud was born, February 8, 1936 at the family home during a blizzard.  He attended Willmar High School.  He enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1953 and served for 25 years, retiring as an Operations Specialist Chief Petty Officer.  He went on to work as an electrician for the Welsh Companies.  Bud was a good friend of Bill W., and he, along with his wife, Marilyn brought the message to many. 

Celebration of Life 3PM Saturday, May 18th at Coon Rapids United Methodist Church, 10506 Hanson Blvd NW, Coon Rapids with visitation at church one hour before service.  Interment at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to:  Happy Tails pet rescue https://www.tailsrescue.org/info/donate or Alexander House  (https://www.alexandrahouse.org/get-involved/giving/donate-now/)
