Glenn Lowell Evavold, age 80 of Minnetonka, formerly of Duluth, passed away May 5, 2019.  Glenn was born September 11, 1938 on a farm near Battle Lake, MN.  He was preceded in death by parents, Art and Sarah Evavold (Mekalson); brother, Donald Evavold.

Glenn grew up in the Battle Lake area and graduated from Battle Lake High School in 1956.  He married Peg Perreten in 1960 and graduated with honors from the University of Minnesota in 1961 with a degree in civil engineering.  As a founding partner of RREM Inc, Glenn was an engineering and environmental consultant for over 37 years in the Duluth area.  Later in his career, he earned a master’s degree in geology from UMD and served as an adjunct professor there in addition to his engineering work.

Glenn was a long time member of Trinity Lutheran Church where he held many leadership positions by serving on all church boards and as president of the congregation.  He also served on both the council of the NE MN synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America and the National Church Council of the ELCA in Chicago.

Glenn’s civic involvement included long time service on the Board of Directors of Grandma’s Marathon with two terms as its president, fundraising for the United Way, and volunteering Second Harvest Food Bank.

His passions included spending time with family, running, singing and playing the guitar, relaxing on Maui, driving “out west,” rock collecting, and cheering on the Twins, Vikings, and Bulldogs.
