Obituary of Dean Lowell Munson

Dean Lowell Munson, 61, of Blaine, Minnesota passed away on May 5th, 2019 surrounded by his family.

Dean was born December 20th, 1957 to Clarence and Jeanette Munson in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He graduated from Richfield High School in 1976 and went on to receive his Associates Degree from Hennepin County Vo-Tech in 1977. On October 25th, 1980 he married the love of his life, Beth Ann. Together they built their longtime home in Savage, Minnesota and raised four children Adam, Jaclyn, Andrea, and Jennifer. Dean accomplished many things in his life, his favorite and most treasured being the family he raised and Checkpoint Welding, the business he founded and led for the last 39 years. Dean enjoyed the simple things in life- good food, good drinks, good company, good music, and good times. He was happiest when he was with his family and friends at his cabin in Webb Lake, Wisconsin or sitting on the beach at his vacation home in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. His humor, intelligence, kind heart, and generous soul will be missed deeply by all who knew and loved him.

Dean is survived by his loving wife, Beth, son Adam, and daughters Jaclyn (Mike), Andrea (Nic), and Jennifer (Chris), grandchildren Sofia and Weston, mother Jeanette, sister Judy (Jim), and many loving nieces, nephews, and extended family. Dean is preceded in death by his father Clarence.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday May 11th, 2019 at Bunker Hills Event Center, 12800 Bunker Prairie Rd NW, Coon Rapids from 11am-3pm. Time of sharing will begin at 1pm. Memorials preferred to American Lung Association.
