Obituary of Vivian Ilene Rootes

Vivian Ilene Rootes passed away on Thursday, April 18, 2019, at Brookdale Senior Living Center, Edina, Minn.

Vivian was born Sept. 5, 1926, in Chatfield, Minn., to John and Hilda Harwood. She graduated from Bigfork High School in 1944 and married Lloyd Rootes in August of that year.

Vivian was a production manager at Hibbing Electronics until her retirement in 1993. Vivian had a strong Christian faith and attended the First Presbyterian Church in Hibbing most of her adult life. She loved to pick blueberries and her blueberry pie was a family favorite.

She is survived by her brother, Darrell Harwood; her four children: Lloyd Rootes, Judy Rootes, Robert Rootes and Brian Rootes; 10 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Vivian was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and four of her siblings.

Funeral: A memorial service will be planned at a later time.
