Obituary of John Perry Novak
John Perry Novak, 75, of Superior, WI passed away peacefully into the arms of the Lord on Friday, April 26th, 2019, surrounded by his loved ones and his precious pup, Kaylee. John was born July 9th, 1943, in Duluth, MN to Grace and Walter (Chuck) Novak. John enjoyed the simple things in life- some of which included spending time and sharing laughs with friends and family, afternoon walks, road trips out west, and anything having to do with the "Wild West". John was also an avid animal lover. He devoted his life to his four-legged friends, especially his doggies!
John is survived by his partner and companion of many years, Jim Wasko, Jim's daughter, Emily, and pup Kaylee, along with his family: brother, Col. Walter E. (Bonnie) Novak, USAF (Ret). Layton, UT; nephew B/Gen Erich C. Novak (USAFR) and family in San Ramon, CA; niece Dr. Kristen L. Novak and family in Park City, UT; cousin Lynn (Paula) Kern and family of Cloquet, MN. John's extended family includes Mike and Roseann Larson, Lori, Nick, Lily and Oscar Danz, and Maryann Wasko. John is proceeded in death by his parents, grandparents Erich and Bea Rehbein, and aunts Dorothy (Lynn) Kern and Leverne Sax.
We would like to thank the SICU staff at Essentia Health - St. Mary's Duluth for the compassionate, loving care they showed John and his family throughout this difficult time. We would also like to thank the staff and residents at Villa Marina for making John's time with them such a fun and pleasant chapter of his life.
There will be no service at this time per John's request. A Celebration of Life for John's friends and family will be posted at a later date.
