Obituary of Philip J Amiot

Philip J. Amiot was born April 1, 1936 and passed away March 29, 2019 at 82 years old.  Phil suffered a massive brain hemorrhage, and was surrounded by his family when he passed.

Preceded in death by parents, Omer and Eva Amiot and daughter Sue. Survived by wife Carol, of 62 years; Children; Steve, Mike, Bennett (Kim), Melania Benzinger (Keith), 8 Grandchildren, Ryan, Eric and Will Majerus, Chris Amiot, Kahley and Shannon Amiot, Nicole Zoubek, Andrew Benzinger and 3 Great Grandsons, Gavin, Charlie, and  George; siblings, Rosaire, Ken, Rod, Sylvia; many nieces, nephews, relatives and good friends. 

Phil retired from Fairview Hospital in Minneapolis, after 41 years as a Maintenance Engineer. He will be missed dearly by all of his friends and family.  He enjoyed 22 years of retirement with his wife Carol. They had 5 children, 8 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Spending time with family was always a top priority. He relished dancing, fishing, hunting, skiing, golfing and playing cards with his family.

Phil and Carol were snowbirds during the winters at Tucson Estates and returned to Minnesota for the spring and summer months. Phil spent his summers fishing on Lake of the Woods in Minnesota, and golfing in Tucson during the winter months.

Memorial Mass 11am Friday, May 3rd at St. Timothy’s Catholic Church 707 89th Ave NE, Blaine with visitation at church one hour before Mass.  Luncheon will follow.  Interment at Epiphany Catholic Cemetery in Coon Rapids.
