Obituary of Marilyn Harleen Risser
Marilyn passed away peacefully after a short battle with lung cancer. She is survived by her high school sweetheart and husband of 62 years, her daughters, grandsons, great-grandsons and grand-dog Kona, who held a special place in her heart.
Marilyn loved her family deeply and unconditionally. Nothing made her happier than knowing her family was well cared for. She was an avid gardener who could make anything she touched not only grow, but flourish-this included her family. Her African violets and orchids were things of beauty that she often shared.
Marilyn was a collector who loved the hunt! She and Jack spent countless hours combing the Twin Cities and beyond for the elusive piece to complete a collection. Her treasures included Peter Rabbit memorabilia, bells and depression glass.
Marilyn could organize anyone or anything. She retired from the Mt. Olivet reception desk where, for many years, at the end of the day, she and Jack could be seen walking home hand in hand.
We are so very grateful for all of the caregivers on “Team Marilyn”! The staff of Grace Hospice and The Regent at Burnsville are all angels who provided comfort and peace to Marilyn and her family when we needed it most.
