Obituary of James R. Phillips

Phillips, James R. Age 71, Bloomington, MN, passed away on April 11, 2019. Jim was born on June 24, 1947, in Aberdeen, South Dakota. He graduated from Aberdeen Central High School in 1965. He was preceded in death by parents; brother Michael; and daughter, Stephanie Fields. Jim is survived by his wife, Kay, of 24 years; daughter, Lisa; brothers, Chuck (Diane), Ken (Leslie); sister, Lori; son-in law, Todd Fields; grandchildren, Trey Fields (Sara), Erin Leach (Brian Thompson), Gunnar Leach; great-grandson, Monte, many nieces and nephews. Also survived by stepchildren, Donna Pearson (Tom), Michael Broas, Annette Broas (Andrew Loftus); step grandchildren, Emily, Amanda, Joshua, Kaylee, Tyler; step great- grandchildren, Lucas and Jonas. He loved taking care of Kaylee and Tyler on Fridays. Jim was a very kind man who was always willing to listen and be non-judgmental. Jim worked in the trucking industry, recently retiring from Multi Modal Transport in St. Paul. Services planned at the Cremation Society of MN, on Friday, April 19, 2019, at 7110 France Ave. S. in Edina, MN visitation at 10:00 a.m. with a service at 10:30 am. Memorials to the Diabetes or Kidney Foundation.
