Judith Leivermann

Obituary of Judith Ann Leivermann

Judith Ann Leivermann, age 80 of Waconia, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, April 4, 2019 in Waconia. Judy was born on November 27, 1938 in Graceville, MN, the daughter of Frank and Agnes Hendricks. She was a true and faithful servant of the Lord. Judy married Bob Leivermann on May 21, 1960, making Waconia their lifelong home. Judy graduated from St. Mary’s School of Nursing in Minneapolis. She was a prominent thought leader in healthcare, beginning as a school nurse at Southview Elementary School while her children were young, before becoming Head Nurse at Ridgeview Medical Center where she worked for 30 years. Judy left her mark on the healthcare industry as a true visionary, starting Home Healthcare and Hospice at Ridgeview Medical Center in a sole hospital room, ultimately growing it to an entire off-site office with a full staff in downtown Waconia. Judy ended her career working at the U of M as the Home Care Director and Director of Transplant. Judy was also a longstanding, active member of Island View Golf Club for over 45 years, where she could be spotted with her partner in crime, Bob, with a tumbler in hand. Judy was especially creative as demonstrated by her lovely and thoughtful handwritten cards, poems and notes, innovative kitchen creations, and exquisite style and taste. She was also an avid life-long learner, pursuing and achieving her masters degree at University of St. Thomas at age 61, mastering online shopping and impressing her grandkids with her infamous texts/emojis. Above all else, Judy was a loving and dedicated matriarch of her family, beginning with her beloved husband, Bob, of nearly 50 years. For her children, she led by example, was a constant supporter, taking pride in the people they have become. As a grandma, “Nana” was the kids’ greatest cheerleader and sports enthusiast, often putting her rosary to work during their games. Nothing on earth made Judy happier than being with her family. She now has the best view of the Leivermann shenanigans from heaven sitting next to her beloved Bob. Judy was preceded in death by her loving husband, Bob and her parents Frank and Agnes Hendricks. Judy is survived by her loving family: children and spouses Bruce and Judy Leivermann of Mankato, Bradley Leivermann of Waconia, Michael and Sara Leivermann of Waconia, Steven and Sally Leivermann of Excelsior, Bobbi Jo and John Fischer of Waconia; grandchildren Ashley, Corey and Dylan Leivermann, Keli Worm (Mike) and Chris Leivermann (Caitlin), Alex, Courtney and Nicky Leivermann, Brigitte, Ross and Gus Leivermann, Elle and John Fischer; great-grandchildren Bryce, Luke and Jordan Worm; brothers and spouses Don and Norma Hendricks of Caryville, TN, Howard Hendricks of Prescott, AZ, Larry and Sandra Hendricks of Fountain Valley, CA; nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
