Obituary of Susan Hewitt

Susan Hewitt, 87, of Red Wing, died Saturday, April 6, 2019 at the N.C. Little Hospice in Edina, Minnesota. She was born April 27, 1931 in Minneapolis to LeRoy and Arbutus (Pihl) Bothum. She was married 65 years to Dr. Richard Hewitt, who died one year ago. They called Red Wing home for almost 60 years and worshipped at United Lutheran Church. She worked for the Red Wing School System for 25 years. She moved from Red Wing to assisted living at SummerWood of Chanhassen 6 months ago and loved playing cards and bingo, but her true joy was spending time with family. Susan is survived by her three children: Lynn of Chanhassen, Jane (Mike) of Chanhassen and Steve (Martine) of Mound; eight grandchildren: Jeremy, Lauren (Eric), Jeff, Charlie (Kelli), Evan (Annie), Chad, Carly and Shane and three great-grandchildren: Emerson, Isla and Nora. A private interment service will be held at Fort Snelling.
