Obituary of Ronald Carl Olson

Ronald "Swede" Carl Olson, age 87, of Duluth, passed away March 22 2019 at Essentia Health St Mary's Hospital.

He was born in Superior, Wisconsin to Carl and Irene Olson. Ron was a graduate of Duluth Central High School and an army veteran. Ron married Marie Hegle in 1957 and retired from General Mills grain elevator after 45 years.

Ron enjoyed summer vacations at Moats Resort in Ely MN and going to Saturday rummage sales with Marie. After retirement he became involved in the neighborhood watch program.

Ron was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Marie and his parents.

He is survived by his three children, Larry (Diane), Anna (Sean) McGee and Jeff; and grandchildren Paige, Joe and Melissa.

Memorial service will be held Saturday, April 6th at 3 p.m., visitation 2:00 in the Cremation Society of Minnesota Chapel, 4100 Grand Ave Duluth, MN.
