Obituary of Judith Ann Nelson

Judith Ann (Romans) Nelson, 71, of St. Louis Park, Minn., died peacefully surrounded by her loving family, Sunday, March 31, 2019, at Methodist Hospital in St. Louis Park.

She was born on Sept. 2, 1947, in Superior, Wis., to Dean and Audrey (Olson) Romans.

Judi married Chuck Nelson on Sept. 3, 1966, in Hoyt Lakes. They lived in Hoyt Lakes and Side Lake for most of their marriage and recently moved to St. Louis Park to be closer to family. Judi graduated from Aurora-Hoyt Lakes High School in 1965 and Hibbing Community College.

Judi had a passion for quilting and spent a lot of time with other quilters in Side Lake and went on many bus trips to visit quilt shops around the area. She enjoyed bingo, cooking, baking and loved to entertain. Most of all, she loved spending time at Perch Lake with her children and grandchildren, who meant the world to her.

Judi is survived by her husband, Chuck; daughters, Beth (Jesse) Olson, Amy (Bernard) Osei-Tutu; grandchildren: Dylan, Olivia, Benjamin, Abigaile and Emma; siblings, Jeff (Joyce), Sue (Steve) Peterson, Dave (Shelly), and Chris (Kelby).

She is preceded in death by her son, Scott; and parents Dean and Audrey.

Funeral: Will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 25, at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in St. Louis Park.
