Obituary of Kenneth Hartwick Hanson

Kenneth Hartwick Hanson, 76, of Duluth passed away Monday, April 1st 2019 in St. Luke's Hospital.

He was born in Duluth on March 29th 1943 to Arnold and Verna Hanson. Kenneth graduated from Central High School in 1961. He served in the Navy on the U.S.S. Canberra from 1962-64. He was a steamfitter/plumber for Local #11 and a member since 1968. Kenneth married the love of his life Mari-ann Schlicht on March 30, 1968. He loved fishing, playing his guitar, coaching the kid's hockey and baseball teams and was a lifelong Vikings fan. He especially loved spending time at his daughter's homes sitting on the patio watching the kids playing in the pool.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Kenneth is survived by his wife Mari-ann Hanson; children Annette Schuman (John), Steve Hanson (Julie), Nicki Vittorio (Jeff); grandchildren Bradley, Kyle, Nicholas, Kale and Dylan; brother Arnell "Dick" Hanson (Pam); nephews, his "adopted" families and many friends.

A memorial service will be held Thursday April 4th at 2:00 pm at Cremation Society of Minnesota, 4100 Grand Ave., Duluth, with a visitation beginning at 1:00 pm.
