Obituary of Arne E. Korhonen

Arne E. Korhonen, age 66, of Brule, Wisconsin passed away on Saturday, March 16, 2019 at Essentia Health St. Mary's Hospital in Duluth, Minnesota, following a short battle with cancer. Arne was surrounded by family. Arne was born on August 30, 1952 to Emil and Esteri Korhonen.

Arne was a lifelong farmer and was passionate about working his family dairy farm in Brule. Arne enjoyed operating and maintaining equipment. He also enjoyed his Finnish heritage growing up in a Finnish community. In his younger years he enjoyed fishing, hunting, and trapping. He graduated from Northwestern High School in 1970. His quiet strength and mischievous sense of humor will be missed by family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents and his special friend, Brenda Brown. Arne is survived by his longtime companion Debra Paulus; brother Donald (Marge) Korhonen; nieces Melissa (Erik) King, Kristina (Aaron) Schiefelbein; nephews Daniel Korhonen, Seth (Maija) Korhonen, Nick Korhonen; and many extended family and friends.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, May 11th at 11:00 am at the Waino Pioneer Chapel.
