Obituary of Karen Kent

Surrounded by her family, Karen Kent, age 71 passed away on Sunday, March 3, 2019 at The Commons On Marice in Eagan, Minnesota after a long battle with Parkinson’s Disease.  A family viewing will be held on Thursday, March 7, 2019 followed by a gathering of family and friends at the home of Thomas and Gloria Kent in Edina, Minnesota. Burial will follow at a later date in the City Cemetery in Newton, Texas.

Karen was born in Jasper, Texas on January 29, 1948 and was a member of the 1966 Jasper High School graduation class. She had retired from the University of Minnesota Department of Emergency Medicine .

She is preceded in death by her parents John Lee and Marilyn Kent. Karen is survived by her son, Scott Needham, wife Melanie and two grandchildren, Topher and Ellie, all of Eagan, Minnesota, and siblings John Lee Kent, Jr. and wife Bonnie of Richmond, Texas, Cynthia Kent Strother and husband Mike of Brookeland, Texas, Thomas A. Kent and wife Gloria of Edina, Minnesota, and David Lynn Kent and wife Janice of Minnetonka, Minnesota, along with numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
