Obituary of Joan Lorraine Lundgren

Joan Lorraine Lundgren, 88, of Hermantown, died Thursday, February 28. She was born January 16, 1931, in Duluth to Walter and Melvina Lucas. She was formerly employed as a switchboard operator at the Duluth Herald and News-Tribune for several years. She was a member of TOPS for over 50 years, and proud that she attained and maintained the status of KOPS for thirty-two years. She was a lover of all children, many dogs and a few cats. She was preceded in death by her parents, by her sisters Henrietta and Bernice, brother Gene, infant daughter Patricia, grandson Jeremy and son-in-law Robert Ryan. She is survived by her husband Harry; daughters Suzette Brockman (Ed), Katherine Ryan, Barbara Lundgren (Rick Shefchik) and Lynda Bolf (Bob), and sons Michael (Heidi Baublitz), Daniel (Laurie), Donald (Sue) and Richard Lundgren; grandchildren Jaymes, Jesse, Claire, Zack, Liza, David, Katie, Leah, Josh and Sarah; and three great-grandchildren. A celebration of life will be held Tuesday, March 12, at the Cremation Society, 4100 Grand Avenue, Duluth; visitation 2-3 p.m., service at 3 p.m. with reception to follow.
