Obituary of Iola Bernice Cundy

Iola Bernice Cundy (Svare)  of Bloomington, Minnesota passed away on February 26, 2019 at age 99.  She was preceded in death by her parents Ida and Olaf Svare and by her husband Dr. Donald T. Cundy.  Iola grew up in Grenora, North Dakota and later moved to St. Paul, Minnesota where she earned her R.N. degree from Ancker Hospital.  It is here that she met her future husband, Dr. Donald T. Cundy.  After a whirlwind courtship and marriage, Don was deployed by the United States army to the European front to serve in World War II.  Upon  his return, three years later, Iola and Don made their home in Minneapolis, Minnesota and later in Edina, Minnesota.  Iola was a devoted and loving wife to Don and a constant source of love and encouragement to all her children.  She was a homemaker, first and foremost, and her home was always a warm and gracious gathering place for family and friends.   Iola was much loved and will be greatly missed by her children Don Singh-Cundy (Anu), Joan Bromander, Joyce Cundy, Connie Bergsven (Dave), Steve Cundy (Jodi), 8 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, and by her siblings Elloise Farmer, Allen Svare and Sharon Nystuen (Arne).  A memorial service will be held this spring.
