Obituary of William A. Henry

William "Bill" A. Henry, 75, of Superior WI (formally of Hibbing MN), passed away Thursday, February 21, 2019 while at the Solvay Hospice House. Bill's wife Denise was by his side along with many family members during his courageous fight against cancer.

He was born July 23, 1943 in Duluth MN to Frances and Viola (Felix) Henry. After high school Bill joined the US Navy, serving 4 years. He married his first wife Veronica Schlosser in 1965 until her passing in 1995. Bill married Denise Pattee in 1996. After the Navy he worked for Erie Mining, then moved to Oakridge, Oregon then back to the Iron Range to return to a mining career at Hibbing Taconite as a mechanic until his retirement. He enjoyed the MN Wild and many other sports along with traveling and spending time with his family.

Bill was proceeded in death by his first wife, Veronica (Schlosser) Henry; grandson, Derek Kliewer; his parents; sister, Frances (Ginger) Staupe; brothers, Daniel and Robert Henry.

He is survived by his wife, Denise (Pattee) Henry; children, Constance Henry of Hibbing MN, Joyce (Rick) Kliewer of Chisholm, MN, Brian (Elizabeth) Henry of Nashwauk, MN, Judith (Michael W.) Simonson of Hibbing, MN, LeRoy Bond of Superior, WI and Tara (Danny) Woodhull of Superior, WI; 14 Grandchildren; five Great Grandchildren; brothers, Charles Henry of Hibbing, MN, Duane Henry of Lacey, WA, Ronald (Nellie) Henry of Kapolei, HI, and Randal Henry of Longview, WA; sisters, Sharon Marinello of Peoria, AZ, Nancy (Pete) Conklin of Lacey, WA, Pamela Henry of Vancouver, WA and Diane (Darryl) Peterson of New Prague, MN; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Gathering of family and friends from 9 am until the 10 am Celebration of Life Thursday, Mar. 7th in the Cremation Society of Minnesota Chapel, 4100 Grand Ave., Duluth. Military Honors will be provided by the Duluth Honor Guard.
