Obituary of Thomas J. Merling

Thomas J. Merling, 76, of Duluth, passed away on February 21st, 2019, surrounded by his family. He was born in Duluth, MN, on February 15th, 1943 to Elna (Bjorken) and Harold Merling. Thomas retired from the boilermaker union. Thomas had a heart of gold and would give a stranger the shirt off his back if ever needed.

Thomas is survived by wife Betty, children Steve Merling of Gary and Tammy (Eric) Enberg of Hermantown, and 12 grandchildren. Also by siblings James, Carole Jean, and Dennis.

There will be a Celebration of Life on March 2nd from 1pm-4pm held at the American Legion located at 5814 Grand Ave, Duluth, MN 55807.
