Obituary of Peter Marvin Gjerde

Peter Marvin Gjerde, age 87, passed away February 20, 2019. Graduate of Minneapolis West High School, 1949. Dedicated employee of Costco for 18 years, where he adopted many friends and family. Loyal and loving husband, father and grandfather. A true gentleman to the end. Preceded in death by wife of 69 years, Ellie; son, Bruce; daughter, Debbie Barile and eight siblings. Survived by children: Tim (Nancy), Liz Norton and Melissa; grandchildren: Kierstin (Eric), Tatum (Bryan), Peter (Jon), Tyler, Alex, Megan (David) and Courtney (Stephen); great-grandchildren: Spencer, Gavin, Allison, Grace, Ruth, Anthony, Lennon, Parker, Quinn and Ava; sister, Phyllis Hill and many other family members and friends. Funeral Service 10:00 a.m. Saturday, March 2, 2019 at Lakewood Cemetery Chapel, 3600 Hennepin Ave, Minneapolis, MN 55408. Visitation one half hour prior to service. Interment following service, Lakewood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
