Obituary of Robert (Bob) Mencel

Robert (Bob) Mencel, 84, Duluth, MN, passed away peacefully Friday, February 1, 2019 surrounded by family at Viewcrest Nursing Home, from a brief illness. He was born in Duluth, MN, April 16, 1934 to Walter & Stella Mencel.

Bob is survived by his wife, Charrie, daughters, Margee (Kelly) Senn, Superior, Kim (Rick) Jewell, Hawthorne, step son Shawn (Jenny) Jensen. Grandsons Brett & Adam Senn, Superior, step grandkids, Justin & Jenna Jensen. Siblings, Doris Ruthford, Shirley Tollers, Lawrence & George Mencel.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Walter & Stella, brother Bill Mencel, sisters, Marion Erickson, Lou VanGuilder and his dog Cindy.

Bob worked at Cargill Elevator & retired from Graph Mark. Last 10 years he was being creative with his daughter making wood craft items. He was so proud of all the things he made. He was flattered that someone wanted him to sign his name on one of the benches he made. You could see the look of joy on his face when people wanted something he created. Bob has been a carpenter/jack of all trades all his life.

He will be sadly missed by family and friends. There will be a Celebration of Life in the summer.
