Obituary of Ralph R Peterson

Ralph R. “Pete”Peterson

Our beloved husband, father, grandpa and brother.

He was a loving husband to Jan. Pete’s beloved twins, Traci Cruikshank and Tanya Rae-Schmidt were the joy of his life. He was blessed to be grandpa to Kaelyn and Drew Cruikshank, Marisa and Bryce Schmidt. He was thankful for fine sons-in-law, Dennis Cruikshank and Rich Schmidt. Pete liked to move. Packing was his specialty with everything measured precisely. He and Jan had wonderful homes in Brooklyn Park. Pete enjoyed traveling. Spain was a destination many times where he indulged Jan’s shoe buying. Unfortunately, it was on a trip to Mexico that Pete suffered a stroke that affected his speech and communication. Since 2008, things were not the same but he never gave up and worked hard on communication with his speech therapist, Jason Cardosi at North Memorial. Jason was a great teacher and became a wonderful friend to Pete. They shared sports and struggles and hard work. Pete was strong, some might say stubborn, to the end. His final months of life he received compassionate, skillful, loving care from the North Memorial Hospice Team.  Nurse Fiana had a special place in his heart. How dedicated they all were. So appreciated. There will be a celebration of Pete’s life in the spring. He was a respected teacher in Robbinsdale at Neill and Noble Schools. In honor of Pete and his love of teaching, Jan will use memorials to provide books and promote literacy in our area. The joy of reading for children.

Speech is Who You Are.

Speech is who you are.

You express your likes, wants, needs and desires.

Speech is who you are.

It shows your personality, wisdom, knowledge and thoughts.

Speech is who you are.

Use it wisely. Appreciate it from those you love. Listen.

Speech is who you are.
