Obituary of Helen Holden

Helen Holden, age 92, of Edina, died January 31, 2019. She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Bill, and her parents. When living in Owatonna she worked for Steele County Social Services and was instrumental in starting the first food bank there and organizing the annual December food and gift donation drive. Upon retiring they moved to the Twin Cities. They enjoyed wonderful years of world travel, weeks at the cabin, and being with family and friends. Helen is survived by her sister, Jeanne Paulson, brother John Nyberg, daughters Joyce Myers (John), Julie Ohrenberg (Gene), Jeanne Fitterer (Skip), son Bill (Sharon), five grandchildren, four great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, and many friends. A memorial service will be at Good Samaritan United Methodist Church, 5730 Grove St. Edina, MN, on Tuesday, Feb. 5, at 10:30 am. Visitation will be at 9:30 am. In lieu of flowers memorials preferred to Good Samaritan Church Music Fund.
