Obituary of Stephen Ness Smedstad

Stephen Ness Smedstad, age 74, of Minnetonka, passed away January 23, 2019. Born and raised in Starbuck, Minnesota. 40 year employee of CenterPoint Energy (Minnegasco). Steve will be remembered for his love of fellowship, fishing, food, music and sports. Steve valued and treasured time spent with his children and grandchildren. Preceded in death by parents, Franklin and Doris; brother, Bruce and sister in law, Beth. Survived by children, Christopher (Holly), Carrie (Scott) Hanson and Kirstin (Stephen) Branham; grandchildren: Hailey, Hunter, Ashlyn, Sasha, Kellen and Emersyn; siblings, Susan, Thomas and Scott and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Memorial service will be held Friday, February 8, 2019 at 11am at St. Andrew Lutheran Church, 13600 Technology Drive, Eden Prairie, Minnesota with luncheon to follow. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to the Courage Kenny Foundation or Park Nicollet Stroke Inspire Program.
