Obituary of Marshall Leon Oakes

Marshall Leon Oakes age 82 of Eagan, passed away peacefully at home January 22, 2019 after a courageous battle with cancer. Preceded in death by his wife Deanna, his parents Francis and Bernice, and his sister Jody Dixon. Survived by son Scott Oakes, daughters Cynthia Cummins and Nancy Oakes, grandchildren; Adam Cummins, Jason Cummins, Brandon Sobieck, Katherine Kennedy and Mitchell Oakes, great-grand- children; William Cummins, Cale Kennedy, Bruce Cummins, Henry Cummins, Charles Cummins, Donovan Cummins, Carson Kennedy, Jackson Kennedy and Jaden Cummins. Marshall was a 1954 graduate of Washburn High School and attended the University of Minnesota, as well as proudly serving in The United States Marine Corps. He was a successful home builder and developer in the Twin City area for over 40 years. His enthusiastic love of life and his sense of humor will be missed. Visitation Wednesday, January 30, 2019 at 5pm, Cremation Society of Minnesota, 7100 France Avenue So, Edina, MN. Memorial service 6pm with a reception to follow.
